The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 is expected to arrive in late 2026, and Sunrise Buick GMC at Wolfchase is where drivers around Memphis, Bartlett, and Germantown, TN, plus Olive Branch and Southaven, MS, will be able to see it in person. Below is what GMC has confirmed.
Four Available Powertrain Choices
The Sierra 1500 will offer two all-new V8 gas engines: the 5.7L V8 and the 6.6L V8, which GMC calls the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. That's a meaningful direction, because plenty of competitors have moved away from big naturally aspirated V8s entirely.*
The Duramax ® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel carries forward, and no other competitor in the class offers an available diesel. If you tow regularly out on I-40 or down 385, low-end torque and highway range are the two things you feel most, and a diesel delivers both. The enhanced TurboMax® engine is the standard-torque leader in its class and is a great choice because of its versatility.
Every engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Over 60 Inches of Digital Displays
The 2027 Sierra 1500 will offer more than 60 inches of combined digital displays, the most in its class. You’ll have a 12.2-inch diagonal Driver Information Center with a clean, readable layout, and a 16.3-inch diagonal center display at your disposal. The center screen tilts up to reveal a hidden storage cubby, which can be handy if you need to store small items while on the job.
An available 11.5-inch front passenger touchscreen is the largest in its class, letting whoever's riding shotgun handle navigation or media without reaching across the cabin. Your passenger can fire up a playlist or find the next exit while you focus on the road.
Also available: Super Cruise® hands-free driver assistance technology with trailering, which is the feature to ask about if long towing runs are part of your routine. OnStar® lets you lock, unlock, or start the truck from your phone, and it can call for help automatically after a collision.
Inside the Redesigned Cabin
Every 2027 Sierra 1500 trim is getting a new cabin, which you’ll notice as soon as you get in. The new MultiPro® Center Console opens as a flat work surface, which is ideal for signing paperwork or eating lunch.
Two more available firsts stand out: Bose® premium front head-restraint speakers, a class-exclusive setup that puts sound closer to ear level, and a panoramic sunroof that changes how open the cab feels on a long drive.
2027 GMC Sierra 1500 Colors
GMC has named nine exterior colors for the 2027 Sierra 1500. Three are new, six return from the outgoing truck, and several are tied to specific trims, so the trim you choose shapes your color options more than it used to.
What's New for 2027
Three finishes debut with the next-generation truck, and GMC lists all three as premium colors.
- Mesa Red: The new everyday red, offered from Pro through AT4X. It's the red to look at if you want an AT4 or AT4X that stands out on the trail or in the parking lot.
- Azurite Blue Metallic: The only blue in the 2027 lineup, and it's reserved for Denali and Denali Ultimate.
- Dark Ridge Metallic: GMC chose this color for its Denali Ultimate reveal photos, and it's one of four colors offered on each version.
Returning Colors
- Summit White: A classic work-truck white that also looks sharp on an AT4X. Offered on Pro, Elevation, AT4, and AT4X.
- Onyx Black: Offered on all six trims.
- Sterling Metallic: A silver-gray on all six trims, and one of the easiest colors to keep looking clean between washes.
- Coastal Dune: A warm neutral on all six trims that hides road dust well and suits the chrome on the Denali as much as the rugged styling of the AT4.
- Glacier White Tricoat: The premium multi-layer white, exclusive to Denali and Denali Ultimate.
- Cardinal Red: The brighter of the two reds, offered only on Pro and Elevation.
Three 2026 Colors That Don't Return
Downpour Metallic, Titanium Rush Metallic, and Volcanic Red are gone for 2027.

Interior Colors by Trim
GMC gave each trim its own cabin look for 2027, and Denali has the most options:
- Elevation: After Dark
- AT4: Forest Storm with Alpine Lake accents
- AT4X: Timber Mahogany with Bright White accents
- Denali: After Dark with Sheer and Sapphire Blue accents, Terra Summit with Bright White accents, or Twilight Harbor with Bright White accents
- Denali Ultimate: Stealth Black with Bright White accents
Monochrome Options for Denali
If you'd rather your Denali have less chrome, you have two ways to get a more monochrome look. GM Authority reports that a new Denali-exclusive Color-Out Package will be available with body-color wheel arch moldings, a body-color tailgate appliqué, body-color mirror caps, and black GMC emblems.
The package requires Sterling Metallic or Glacier White Tricoat. Separately, body-color wheel arch moldings will be offered as a dealer-installed option on Denali and Denali Ultimate in Onyx Black, Sterling Metallic, or Glacier White Tricoat. Pricing hasn't been announced for either.
